We are excited to inform you that our surgery is participating in the IID3 Study, a significant research project focusing on Infectious Intestinal Diseases (IIDs). The study aims to improve our understanding of how these illnesses spread and how they can be better diagnosed and treated in the community.
Be on the lookout for a text message from us. You may receive an invitation to participate in this important study. Your involvement is entirely voluntary but can make a real difference in enhancing healthcare services for everyone.
What is the IID3 Study About?
Purpose: To gather valuable data on the prevalence and impact of infectious intestinal diseases within our community.
Participation: May involve completing a short survey about any recent symptoms and, if applicable, providing a sample for analysis.
Privacy: All information and samples will be handled confidentially and used solely for research purposes.
Your contribution could help shape the future of healthcare by aiding in the development of better prevention strategies and treatments for IIDs.

Call NHS 111 (Option 2)
You can call NHS 111 and select Option 2 if you or someone you know needs urgent mental health care, but it's not life threatening.
Mental Health 111 (Option 2) is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is free to call from a mobile (even when the caller has no credit left) or from a landline.
The 111 Option 2 service can help you if:
- you have an existing mental health problem and your symptoms get worse
- you experience a mental health problem for the first time
- someone has self-harmed but it does not appear to be life threatening, or they're talking about wanting to self-harm
- a person shows signs of possible dementia
- a person is experiencing domestic violence or physical, sexual or emotional abuse
RSV Vaccine Update
We are now inviting eligible patients for the RSV vaccine. This includes:
👶 Pregnant women from 28 weeks gestation
👴 Adults aged 75-79 as of 1st September 2024
Invitations are being sent via text with a booking link, and we will call patients without mobile numbers.
Please ensure the surgery has your up-to-date contact details so we can reach you.

Flu & COVID-19 Vaccination Update – October 2024
We are currently sending out invites, including self-booking links, for all patients eligible for the Flu and COVID-19 vaccines.
The vaccination campaign has now begun, following Health Board guidance.
As with the RSV Vaccine, please make sure we have your most up-to-date contact details on file.

Welcome to St David's Clinic
St David's is a large teaching practice based on the west side of Newport. There are 6 partners, 7 salaried GP's, 8 GP Registrars, 4 practice nurses, 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioners, 3 Health Care Assistants, 2 Pharmacists and one physician associate.
